This is the only and the first project ever for the world of documentaries. It tells about the culture of the nomadic people – the Sarmatians. The film is based on the unique, the world's biggest collection of the Sarmatians gold ware. The scenario was created with the latest scientific concepts and sensational discoveries made by the archeologists taken into consideration.

The age of the Sarmatians represents a dramatic page of the history of the large ancient world. Those legendary nomads were the dominating force in the vast Eurasian steppes for about eight centuries – from the 4th century B.C. till the 4th centurt A.D. The invincible nomadic armada invaded Europe and became a serious threat not only to the city-states situated in the Black Sea area, but also to the Roman Empire. Rome appreciated the military skills of the Sarmatians at their true value right away, and this lead to conclusion of a peace treaty providing that the Sarmatians should take part as a foreign legion in the military campaigns held by the Roman Empire.

Historians find numerous proofs of the fact that the Sarmatians produced a significant influence upon the cultures of many European nations. In the well-known series of legends about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, many researchers discover some features characteristic to the squad organization of the Sarmatian army.

The Sarmatian women – the "amazons" – fought in the wars equally with their men. Those beautiful and graceful horsewomen who were able to handle their armaments perfectly changed the antique notions of the women's position in the society radically.

The Sarmatians are still remaining a mysterious nation. The researchers performed by the scientists help recreate its history lost in the course of time. The archeological memorials – the burial mounds – reveal a particular world of sophisticated images and material achievements of the nomads' culture. During the recent years, the archeologists have discovered hundreds of masterpieces of the ancient art, which were created by the Sarmatians thousands of years ago. The culture that has been known from a few written fragments only is now starting to gain some material outlines.

This documentary gives an amazing opportunity to see the world of the nomadic people. The mystical beauty of the richest gold ware collection which is not well-known to the world yet captures the attention of the present-day people. It includes an exclusively rare find with no analogues – the shabrack, or the horse saddlecloth made of pure gold. The restoration of its original appearance took the scientists 15 years.

Now that thousands of years have passed by, the priceless treasure will tell you about the bygone power, beauty, and strength of the amazing nomadic people called Sarmatians.

The leading scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences acted as consultants and participants of this documentary. The shooting sessions took place in the South of Russia, in the southeast of the Ukraine, and in the Republic of Crimea. The documentary was highly appraised by the filmmaking experts and specialists in history.
